These aren't valuable, but I think it's cute. My Dad had it. They're made in Spain. There's a tiny cleaning rod and there's actually a hole in the cylinder. Some say they're cap guns, but I've never seen a tiny cap. It's 2 1/4" from handle to tip of the barrel. It's put away for my grandson. I figure by the time he gets it, it'll be an antique.

What she has is commonly referred to as a pinfire. They sell for hundreds to thousands for the better makers.

Very nice. Of course, I still have caps for the larger cap guns (my grandson got the one I used as a kid) but too big for this little guy. I'm going to have to look for the small ones now. ;) IMG_4485.JPG

This type of toy has nothing to do with a pinfire gun...

where a pin must be depressed into the metal casing.....

    upload_2017-6-28_1-28-14.jpeg

causing a violent shot to be fired thru a hollow barrel......

    upload_2017-6-28_1-29-45.jpeg

This is also a pinfire gun......but quite deadly....

I think I've one or two of these.
One may be a .45 Mark IV chrome plated with white grips.
I vaguely recall this so I'm not sure.

Although not what a collector would call a pinfire pistol (19th C cartridges with a pin sticking out of the base rim), this seller does seem to have established a name 'Pinfire' for these miniatures, which have been around for many years, I have sold an old one myself on ebay by selling it as a watch fob not a gun. It fetched a good price so the right people saw it.
As far as I know the 2mm round is the smallest fixed ammunition made. This is less than half the size of .22 round which is 5.6mm.

My favourite wierd round is the .22 Velo dog.

The Velo-Dog (also known as a Revolver de Poche[1]) was a pocket revolver originally created in France by Charles-François Galand in the late 19th century as a defense for cyclists against dog attacks. The name is a compound word composed of "velocipede" and "dog".

I never had a cap gun....my brother did, and all the neighborhood boys did also.

We girls would take a roll of caps, find a rock and bang away......we thought that was sooooo much fun! I loved the smell of the burnt cap (or should that be burned cap???)

    :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::facepalm:

    Hi,
We used to as kids carefully scrape off the top paper on caps and dump the tiny bit of gunpowder into an old Mason Jar lid. When we did a roll or two we would blow it up!!! Lots of bang, we were lucky we did not lose a finger or an eye doing that.

I was the only girl in our neighborhood, which was rural. And my parents wanted a boy. I got guns, bows & arrows and a Handy Andy toolkit for birthdays and Christmas. We used rocks, too. Still do. My grandson loves those bang caps that you throw on the ground.
