I think Michael Jackson would have loved that.

Is there a genre called Hollywood Chateau?

Greg, I am amazed how the Egyptian artesians can sit for hours doing all that fine inlay on these boxes and carvings?

Sharona, that is my fave frame too...:)

Nuff, I am always amazed by your fantastic finds.

Hey there Sal, great to see ya here :D

Thanks, Shi! I'm always amazed at how folks sell this stuff for so cheap without looking it up first. But then again, if they all looked things up, I'll be sh**t out of luck. :nailbiting:

Here are a few more pieces...

    Tiffany sterling silver bracelet.

Judging from the engraved 14KT gold clasp, my guess would be: Chinese early-20th C. jade necklace. Looks to be all hand knotted and good quality stones.

    Some jade bits/parts.

Any value in vintage Swiss watch parts?

The Longines movement should sell if it works, but not for a large amount. Maybe $10-20.

It would depend on someone needing one just like it as it appears to be a woman's watch size.

Nuff, if you open a free photobucket account, you can imbed more photographs into the auction listing. When I do imbed more photographs, I make one of the ebay 12. a sign that reads MORE PHOTOGRAPHS IN DESCRIPTION.

Not to long ago, I read that some of the jewelry sellers no longer sell large lots. They make smaller lots because of the SNAD problems. When larger lots were returned, things were missing or replaced with things that were not originally included. Smaller lots of 10 or 15 pieces were easier to control. This happened to someone I know and now, they video themselves opening returns to prove what is in the box no matter what it is.

and now, they video themselves opening returns to prove what is in the box no matter what it is.

A complete waste of time, since no one would be interested. The problem is continuity of evidence. All the video would show is them opening a box. Not the box, and with no proof that they had not opened it already, changed the contents and resealed it, then filmed the opening.

Because of this, and I'm not suggesting that this is what they would do, no such evidence is worth anything in law or in the eyes of ebay.

A better policy is not to waste time on unwinnable battles, just treat the odd trick customer as a cost of doing business and deduct the loss from your pre tax profits.

It worked on one case for them already. They won by using the video.

On, the old boards, there is a video of buyer opening an envelope that arrived from China that was suppose to contain something electronic that should have more weight. When he opened it, there was one round bead inside. He also won his case. So ebay is accepting these videos as proof.

Buyers get the benefit of the doubt, I very much doubt if it would do a seller any good in a SNAD situation.

The weight of the box is better than a video.

    Interesting info Cove, thank you!

I'm not sure exactly what to do with this jewelry mess as of yet, but I have to start getting rid of it, it's piling up fast! To be honest, I'm getting a bit sick of looking at it, as most of you know it's not really my thing or what I normally deal with or sell.

Now should I be an a$$ and file a SNAD and ask for a partial refund?
