Hello, I bought this hand emproidery table cloth in the thrift store. It was a beatiful before it was faded. My plan was to cut the brightest pieces and make couple decorative pillowcases. Before I take the scissors I think it is a good idea to find out what this piece is: style, origin, maybe time of making. The table cloth is cotton, app. 7'x6'. Any help will be very much appreciated. tc small 1.jpg DSC06364.JPG 2020-08-03 00.44.36.jpg tc small 1.jpg DSC06367.JPG 2020-08-03 00.44.06.jpg

I believe your embroidered cloth may be from India, a type known as kantha, which is worked in a characteristic running stitch. This style of cloth is made in the east Indian states of West Bengal and Odisha.

A suzani is worked with different embroidery techniques, using couched threads and chain stitch.
