I have no clue on needlepoint (or textiles of any kind)

I thought it was cute and would sell well with the country primative look..

There is no name or date on it, any indication of age?

    Hi,
I would guess 1970s. I did a lot of them while flying was unable to read on long jet flights.

    Hi,
Looking more closely, All the stitching was not finished. All of mine were washed gently to remove the greenish blue transfer. That way it did not look like a transfer kit.

    Its modern 1970-80's.
They don't sell at all here in the UK.

I was thinking a little older, but those kits were around forever. Stamped kits done by women in front of the radio at first, then television.

I figured throwing $25 on it would sell it quick.
Its not overly impressive, but has a nice country/primative look.

Not a linen person. So just throwing in my two cents. You don't have to take it.

The linen looks tighter than what we were using in the 1970s. The colors and the subject matter also do not look 1970s to me.
I would be more inclined to think 1940s-50s.

It also looks like it was done with a heavier floss than regular embroidery floss, looks more like crewel yarn. But then it could be the focus on the camera too.

Okay - ya'll are confusing this cloudy ole mind again!

Is this embroidery (?) or needlepoint..............I thought needlepoint was done on a mesh canvas (as was petite point, but smaller)...................

Mansons it is embroidery:). I seem to have spent idle time doing cross-stitch which is all done with the little "x" stitch, once upon a time.

This almost looks it was printed on a linen-like fabric.

    Hi Mansons,
It is embroidery , needle point is where the backing is covered covered with stitches like petite point but larger. There are all kinds of different types of all three.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

The fabric appears to be heavily stained. Either it's had a hard life or is older than most here are saying it is.

Possibly both; this was probably done in the late 40s up until about 1960. It probably lived in an attic for a while when this sort of design fell out of favor.

The style looks a lot like some pieces my Mom had, done by relatives in the 40s to 50s.

My mom has one her aunt did; it's birds instead of a house, but the technique isn't far off. The aunt died circa 1954, so the piece has be at least that old.
