This blanket was my Dad's. I was wondering if the hand sewn on label was the maker or the person it belonged to.
Any ideas on this anyone ?

Rather fancy with that Gothic font, but it reminds me of all the little name labels Mom had to sew into/onto everything I took to summer camp in the 50's. Probably also used for kids going to boarding school.

The blanket itself may be "lap robe" sized, used in chilly rooms and in the poorly heated (or unheated) automobiles. I think I still one or two in the cedar chest.

Hmm, yeah I was thinking 50's too. So it's not the makers name right ?

Double-sided rug? Never seen that. Looks like Robertson and Royal Stewart tartans in dramatic over-scale. I'd think printed name tag, as opposed to name of woolen mill. Old font but doesn't mean previous owner (G.F. Beeny) didn't have in drawer since his (much) earlier summer camp days.

Tartans indeed....likely English, or Scottish mill made.
The double sided is unusual......but I have a double woven one where one side is just a solid color.

One would expect to NOT see 2 different clan colors together and I suspect the reverse of this Royal Stewart to be the modern version of the Stewart Dress Hunting design......

Yes, you're right. Nice plaid, with those two Stewart tartans.

EVERYTHING was marked in some manner when I was away at school - even photo frames, pens, books, handkerchiefs, socks, drawers, sports um, whatever, etc.
On first inspection by House Master, if he found an unmarked item, it was confiscated until identified by a parent. And while parcels from home were discouraged, the rule was that IF a parent couldn't bear the thought of his kid living without sweets and biscuits/cookies, the packets/tins had to be marked BEFORE distribution to the addressee...............my aunt never could get it right, and she would send tea cakes (with jam in a jar) and they were always stale by the time House Master got the marked and in my possession.................
