I received this teapot with burner as a gift. Hoping to get more info and an appraisal thank you!

Hi,
I think it is a hot water pot to make tea in a tea pot. I could be wrong but I thought true tea drinkers did not heat the tea to keep it hot? I was always told to scold the tea pot and then add the tea leaves and then hot water.

There are at present 4 sold -hot water pot with burner- on ebay.
One is sterling silver, so no comparison there, but another is very much like yours in form and age...unidentified mark, if you were planning to sell yours on ebay, that would be your most comparable for value.

Not for making the hot water for tea - that needs to be absolutely just on the boil. These were actually for keeping hot water at a temperature high enough to top up the pot.
