Hi, I generally collect music related items, but my Mum gave me these figurines recently and I cant find anything about them. She lived near the pottery and would often pick up random stuff from their outlet shop. I think she once said she thought these figures were shelved and not manufactured, but she may well be wrong although i haven't seen them before or since! anyone recognise them? they are of Puer and Puella and are dressed in 60's or early 70's style. Many thanks for letting me join.
Welcome to the Forum! Checking the box Full Image will give best results. They are “Groovey” Maybe @Ownedbybear or @John Brassey knows about them.
Puella and Puer are Latin for girl and boy and in some contexts deified as the eternal boy and the eternal girl. Reminds me of Are You Being Served S1E4, His and Hers (1973), with Joanna Lumley. Keep your chappie happy... my 2¢.
I just love those figurines. I couldn't find anything quite like them. I did find an interesting article about the artist. https://www.figurines-sculpture.com...sletter__Do_Not_Get_Left_Behind-newslet8.html
Afraid not. Crown Staffordshire has a reputation for good quality pieces. John Bromley is mostly known for his bird sculptures based on Sir Peter Scott’s art.
