Featured Wooden Duck

Any age here?

 

As you see by my avatar, I do love me some ducks!

It does look vintage, at least - can you tell if the eye is glass or plastic?

Seems a little small for a full grown decoy, and stylized carving isn't typical on authentic decoys. Some may be out there, though, if the artisan couldn't find paint...

 

The woods ducks on the next block hatched a couple weeks ago

The box out back had seven eggs day before yesterday

 

I cleaned out a nest of 18 eggs the runners were sitting on the last 5 days so this doesn't happen again: (this was 2 years ago when my wife didn't clean the eggs out and told me "Don't worry, Runners aren't broody!"

 

Yes, looks more decorative than made to be a decoy.

Eyes are plastic.

 

I have some similar carved ducks in the shop. They don't come with poetry but I'm thinking of adding a line or two.....

 

Similar, like in design, carvings and finish?

So I climbed the ladder tonight and there was an incubator. Scared the crap out of both of us.
