IMG_5163.JPG IMG_5158.JPG Hello. I have a pair of large black Staffordshire cats.
They are lovely and I'm wondering how much they could be worth. I believe they are around 1930s possibly.
    Regards Rita

These are not Staffordshire. These are new, made in China decorator items and not very well made at that. If you call them Staffordshire you'll get in trouble for false advertising.

Oh well. I didn't pay much for them, just got them as I like cats.

I'd concur with Bev on the cats. That base is totally off and the painting isn't lovely.

I sell Staffordshire cats and dogs but only if I've authenticated them carefully. Reputation is everything.

I wouldn't say anything disrespectful about those figurines. They look like they'd take it personally.

There is a pair at my honey hole thrift. Really large and old looking clay with some crazing. I'll try to get some pics next time I'm there.

    This! They look very disapproving.
I like them and could see them either side of a fireplace. :)
