It is yours to do with as you wish. If it were mine, I would not have listed it for sale until I knew for sure what I had.

Looking at it from the buyer's perspective, I would think $600 would be a lot for a recently made trunk (if that is what it is), but a good bargain if it is genuinely old.

 

How did you title the listing? Did you say it was colonial. Im thinking the buyer is thinking its from that Era so you might want to wait to see what the auction house says because you might be selling it for too cheap.

I accepted the offer - I found a 17th century leather trunk selling for $1,300 on 1stdibs (https://www.1stdibs.com/furniture/s...80&gclid=CLjY3bjg6-oCFZWggQodepgGIw&gclsrc=ds)
- so if that's also a possibility of what it's worth then I'm happy with my profit & that the buyer is happy - it's a win win.
