That's a lot of pitcher for free! The books are a major score; for free they're even better.

Great score, Mill Cove! You can't beat FREE.

(And who knows WHAT you would have found had you gone to the yard sale itself!)

Lloyd, if I had $50 million, I would bet you that much that your chair is not by Picasso. Why would Picasso copy one of his own paintings onto a chair? Show me where Picasso copied any of his own paintings onto any surface anywhere.

A quote from Picasso: "To copy is necessary but to copy oneself is pathetic."

I tend to agree with you on this, however... didn't Picasso basically paint the same painting 15 times in his "women of algiers" series?

They were variations on the theme (as opposed to copies), and the original was by Delacroix.

I wonder if the series of paintings that he did based on old masters during that period might be considered fan pics.

Yep I get that too...and to me, Lloyd's chair seems dissimilar enough from the original that it could be a "variation", although personally I would guess that it was a copy done by a fan too.

The more times I see it, the more it looks like "fan fiction".

I think it's a first draft ,as there is not as much into it as the woman with bird that is on my post card .

I understand your doubt , it is a sensitive subject ,subjected to subjection lol , but i assure you i know it is the real deal. not only could no body else have done this, but to make sure there was no doubt about it ,he put his name in big bold red paint (his favorite ) letters on the back to prove it .

I'm fairly sure this is his signature on it, he never signed the same way , he was quoted " every time I signs a work it is like I'm doing it for the first time ", that is documented .
