I think they look like mens fancy cuff links that someone got frustrated with and bent the heck out of the backing..........IMHO!!

These ARE wingbacks. I have several pair.

 

Judith McCann patented the wingback mechanism but they were used on a few different maker's earrings. I'm looking at a sterling pair on my desk with the early Danecraft mark and her patent # on the mechanism.

 

Thought you guys would like to see them.
