Having some trouble identifying the maker of these vases and clock piece (what the collective name for the set is I don't know either.)

The mark appears to consist of:

    - A lion above
    - A wreath circling a crown
    - The initials 'H' and possibly 'U' beneath

Any insight would be most appreciated. Thank you.

The set is known as a garniture - sorry I can't help with the markings, but someone will be along shortly who can help you!

    Thank you for the info.

Silly me but I have just noticed some clear wording just beneath the clock on the front that reads "Angelica Kauffmann" although this doesn't match the initials on the mark, which is confusing me a tad. Perhaps it's to reflect the painting artist rather than the maker of the vases.

Angelica Kauffmann was very famous, but by no means Victorian.
She was Swiss, born in Chur (eastern Switzerland) in 1741 and died in Rome, Italy in 1807. She was very much an 18th century artist, and a famous painter in a period when there were very few women artists.
She was well known throughout Europe and traveled and worked in various countries, including Britain. She is still one of the foremost portrait painters of art history.
Her paintings are attractive not just because of the artistry, but also because she knew how to paint the psyche of the sitter. Her people are real people, in spite of the romantic setting. That is why her paintings are often used for porcelain transfers, etc.
And for fan lovers, she also painted some beautiful fan leaves, although most Angelica Kauffmann fan paintings are 'after Angelica Kauffmann'.
    This is her self portrait:

Many thanks for the useful info. Lovely when one knows a little more about what they are looking at.
