IMG_3369.JPG FullSizeRender (9).jpg i would appreciate if anyone can help me identify artist's name. It looks like a serigraph.

    Thank you in advance!

I think I saw this guy in action at Darling Harbour, Sydney Olympics. He was very clever and very quick. He worked on super shiny surfaces, using spray paint and then acrylic (?) which he would smear (to create the effect of the waterfall, for instance.) I know that round lids featured somehow in the painting of the planets, and detail was scratched through the wet paint. He might even have worked on plastic sheets; certainly it was shiny enough to let him muddle and drag the paint. A clever guy, and I seem to recall he was American? Canadian? Who would have thought that would still be in the memory bank :) Sorry I can't help more, but it was fascinating to watch this very slick operator.

He'd put down some colours, place round lids, spray over them, and that'd be the planets, etc ... if it is the same guy.

I saw a street artist doing similar types of art on Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. I don't think this is the guy I saw but similar technique, though this guy has fancier equipment. The video in the next post is even better at showing this technique though this guy's name is Rafael so maybe?

Are you near San Francisco? Does this look similar to what you have?

This might be better as an example.

I believe Kbstitch is a fellow Australian. Street artists would have flocked here for the Olympics and he'd have had 17 years to become more sophisticated. I wouldn't be surprised if this is "Raphael", but will watch yr video when at the computer. Looks like amazing sleuthing, say-it-slowly. Well done!

Exactly as I remember it, only without the heavier paint! What a trip down memory lane that was. I think Say-it-slowly has found your artist, Stitch. Amazing.

I don't know, I suspect there are other street artists doing the same sort of thing, kind of graffiti like.

It probably doesn't have a huge $ value, sad to say. But it was a real blast to remember Sydney at its fabbiest best
