Some interesting monk figurines - maybe pottery? ?clay playing card paper makers mark?

    Received these two in the post today - another purchase!

    wondering if anyone has any idea of their origin please? Interesting the makers mark is a paper label? I can’t make out the letters :-(
    Initially I thought might be goldscheider but doesn’t look like it as they seem to all be on bases and more detailed ‍♀️

    Old price tag, not maker's label, I'd say.

    A lot of subject matter like this is from the early 20thc, pre ww1

    I would be looking at German early 20th century terracotta figures. They are very similar in style to Goldscheider’s figures but lack their detail.

    thankyou that’s really helpful I will. How do you get the hang of knowing the time of production - experience? I have no idea most of the time!
