Original Oil painting by Peterson?

Picked up this oil painting for $6 at a thrift store. Thought it was well framed and would look good in my bathroom. It seems the be an original oil painting and is signed "Peterson" from what I think I can see. Any insight? Thanks so much.

 

Oh and here's a closer photo of the signature.

 

Given the frame, appears to be a Mexican factory painting from the 1960s-1970s.

Well, I didn't say that. I would say... decorative, rather than genuine artistic expression. But that's my opinion. Do wait for others to voice theirs.

I am with Debora. It could be a factory painting or, possibly, Peterson is a real person cranking these out for the tourist trade. I think the former more likely than the latter.

I think you should go to your local art museum and have an art expert give you an opinion about it.

 

I have one of these also that I bought for $20 on a street in Brooklyn about 20 years ago! Would love some insight on where they were produced!

I'm sitting here in pain.......from a calf cramp , last night...
a $1500...car bill...for brakes..tie rods..alignment..oil change...hand brake...
a sore back and hip.....

car troubles are now all.....( mostly.) fixed.......... pain lingers on....
