Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Tried that, but it didn't work in that case. I think it's somehow because I copied and pasted Ladybranch's text, then italicized it. The copy and paste had turned into a quoted text that automatically inserted a link back to the original. I deleted that link before adding my own text. I'm not sure why, but maybe there was some code embedded that was still surrounding my text? -- Anyway, not that important... thanks!

Thanks evelyb for the reminder to test - I might not have except that you mentioned it.

Waiting on new acid and a testing stone....hope it gets here soon!

Test 'em all while you're at it. I've seen all sorts of odd things turn out to be gold.

I was just about to list this pin, and I decided to do one last search for it. I can't believe I found it! The initials are AEI which stand for Amity Eternity Infinity.

Well I looked around a bit to investigate further. I found this blip on a British genealogy forum when someone asked about a locket they were researching....

"Here we see a lovely example of an oval sentimental locket of sterling silver. Prodigious in both size and weight in the traditional manner, the front of the ornate double box locket is decorated with the letters “A” “E” “I” formed into a stylized monogram of Japanese influence. These initials, originally from the Greek, translates to “for now and forever”, (aei, aiei or aion). The Victorians re-interpreted this to represent “Amity, Eternity, Infinity”.

So I am guessing that this would classify it as mourning jewelry.

If no one else mentioned it, the letter that looks like "E" is stylized as what appears to be "the Christian fish," more detailed than usual, with mouth to left and two parts of tailfins on the right.

Oh my gosh, how cool is that? I hadn't even noticed it.

When I first saw the pin, I immediately saw the cross and the crown, both of which would be Christians symbols. I just thought that it was coincidental, a result of the letters intersecting.

    Neat!
