...found in a box this morning...

When I googled Slim & turquoise lots of examples of rings/jewelry stamped "B", but none with the whole name Slim like this one. Many examples of his work have identical leaves and other details...

Photos of the ring after I cleaned it later in this thread...

Thanks for any insight you may have!

I can't see, does it have the B as well?
Just 'SLIM' could be Grace Slim.

No B that I can see. It's very tarnished, but I think I'd be able to see it if it was there.

In that case I think it is Grace Slim. She is Navajo as well, same family probably. Hope to hear what the others think.

Interesting! It appears there are several generations, including contemporary, Slim family silversmiths! I haven't found anything by Grace yet...still going gown the rabbit hole :wacky:

Unless you polish your silver you will miss a lot of hallmarks.
    Is this a copyright mark?

    Agree.
For now I am sticking with Grace Slim. It is hard to find anything on her online, but I remember seeing more of that light greenish turquoise in her pieces way back when.

Thank you @Lucille.b & @cxgirl ...I dabbled in stock photography when that was a thing...the internet killed it. All these were taken with an iPhone 6 and a ztylus macro lens! It's amazing what a phone can do now!

Thanks @Any Jewelry. I still can't find any Grace Slim. I wrote a Native American makers mark website asking for help. Also thinking of writing a contemporary Slim silversmith to see if he knows...first, some lunch!!!

Wright's Hallmarks of the Southwest, p. 157, has Grace Slim saying:

    "SLIM, GRACE Navajo
SILVERSMITH: Smith for the Canyon Silver Company.
HALLMARK: Stamped surname in 1/16 Gothic print, first used in 1975.
    From Sanders, Arizona region.

G.SLIM" [Given as an example of her mark]

Several other Slims are listed also. None of the examples of their marks are just SLIM.
    Billy Slim: B. or B.SLIM
    Helen Slim: H.S. or H.SLIM
Luanne Slim & husband Marvin: M.Slim
Michael L. Slim: MICHAEL L. SLIM

Nowwww on Grace the author says only surname but example given is surname with initial. On the others the author says initials or surname with initial. Certainly looks like an error on Grace. Saying only surname, the example should have been only SLIM. With an example of G.SLIM, the description should have read, surname with initial.

Excellent! @Any Jewelry thought it was Grace Slim as well. It does sound like an error in the book. Now to try to find a photo another piece of her work to help document that! It seems she wasn't as prolific as the other Slims!

    Thank you!

Welllll.... have now found found a presumably ring by her. Nowwwww don't get excited for it is signed with *only* a "G."
    http://www.ebay.ca/itm/222519598979?rmvSB=true&ul_ref=http%3A%2F%2Frover.ebay.com%2Frover%2F1%2F706-53473-19255-0%2F1%3Ficep_ff3%3D2%26pub%3D5574735181%26toolid%3D10001%26campid%3D5336086427%26icep_item%3D222519598979%26ipn%3Dpsmain%26icep_vectorid%3D229529%26kwid%3D902099%26mtid%3D824%26kw%3Dlg%26srcrot%3D706-53473-19255-0%26rvr_id%3D1218141347751&ul_noapp=trueIt

More bad news, following is an eBay page of several Grace Smith's items. All of them are singed with only an upper case "G." The page is on ebay.ca. What country is this, Canada, China...?
    http://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_from...+silver.TRS0&_nkw=grace+smith+silver&_sacat=0

On the following NA silver marks site it has only "G" as A matk fir Grace Slim.
Under the G section, top/1st row, far right column:
