Found this today in the Salvation Army store. was in a frame behind glass that was moldy and just about falling apart - with an old cardboard backing. between the painting and the backing there was several pages of a newspaper (The Daily Mirror) dated Jan 5, 1939. Painting appears to be signed F Király (I googled enough to know the surname is Hungarian but is commonly found in Austria and other countries in the area). There is some pencil writing on the paper below the painting which I am not quite sure what it says - looks like "blue grass" almost but I'm not sure, and "blue grass" wouldn't really make sense given the scene. I'm assuming I can roughly date this painting to around the date of the newspaper? And assume it's from that general area? (Hungary, Austria) - I'm also guessing this is a scene from the Alps. Thanks for any input. The painting itself is about 9" wide and 6 1/2" tall. 2nd pic has the writing below.
