I believe it's brass plated and was made in Scotland or England. I have no idea of the age and I don't think it has much if any value, just curious. Thanks.

I think this may be it.

Orme Evans & Co (O & E Co) Elgin Works, Great Brickkiln Street, Wolverhampton. This mark is underneath an art deco candlestick. They were founded in 1864 and took over Henry Fearncombe and the copperware business of John Marston in 1902. They were showing no copper or brassware in their 1927 catalogue and seem to have ceased trading altogether in 1960, see the Wolverhampton History Society website.

This suggests the number may indicate capacity.

"This large (6 pints) brass ewer was made by Orme Evans, possibly around the turn of the century.

Many other companies made such ewers and there is not much, apart from the exact shape of the handle, to distinguish one from another.

By this time many makers were marking their goods. This is the mark on the base of the ewer shown above. It consists of the letters O, E and Co with an ampersand. The 6 beneath it shows the capacity of the ewer in pints."

Brilliant! Thank you for finding this :D:D:D I don't know much about metalware but to me the mark on the candlestick looks newer and more refined. I'm also curious about why the bottom looks to be soldered in a different material. Perhaps it rusted out and was put back on? :p
