Featured Bali? goddess or woman carving - who is she? - and how old?

    Would anyone have a view on this one? It is a carving of a deity I bought from Bali in the mid 1990s. Maybe Vishnu in disguise? Carved by a master and my most treasured possession.

    She is stunning, Andrew. Very much the 1990s style.
    No, she isn't. Mohini/Vishnu is always depicted holding the Amrita vessel, and your beauty isn't. She is Dewi Tara, the Goddess of beauty.
    I would love to see more of her, different views, if you don't mind.

    I can imagine. Who is she carved by, is she signed?

    Many thanks..she does have a signature - the Carver was named "Mu Kuh".

    Thanks, Andrew. The name doesn't ring a bell, but then there are so many carvers on Bali. He did a good job.:)
