Bought a bed today. I think its late 1800s, maybe very early 1900s. Eastlake style. Walnut.

Part of the ornamental wood is separating a tad on the right side of the head board. I think maybe those two vertical boards on the back of the head board were added later to reinforce. The wood doesn't really match up with the rest.

    That all seem about right?

Got it for $125. Not as much of a steal as the $7 Henredon, but I think it was a good buy with a little room to make some on.

Nice! I think 1880-90. A bit of Eastlake, renaissance revival, and aesthetic styling all rolled in to one. While beds are not particularly good sellers, this is a nice one and I don't think you paid too much.

The two verticals on the back look original to me. Made so it could be taken apart. They often just used rough lumber for such things.

Love the little "windows" with flowers and vines at the top of the headboard! The icing on the cake!

Yeah beds have been slow for me. I've had renaissance revival bed and matching dresser forever I can't seem to sell. Signed Woglom but never found anything on that maker. I liked the styling personally, but I have had it for over a year trying to sell.

    Thanks for the info.

Come to Iowa and you can get Eastlake walnut beds all day long for $75 to $150. I have two or 3 in my basement and can't give them away at the moment. Brown furniture is a very hard sell these days.
