image1.JPG Hey everyone, joined this site for some help with a item I bought.
Chair is solid mahogany wood - stamped with "MHG" - steel base, nail headed reddish leather(or what I think is leather ) in GREAT condition.
    On wheels. Extremely heavy chair.
Was wondering if y'all can give it a circa date, type of chair, and estimated value ?

I bought it for $11 and wasn't planning to restore it but i am indecisive on selling it.

Please help - replies would greatly be appreciated !

Hi, Justin - nice chair! (and for $11, a bargain!)

I can't help with dating it, but I'd call it a high-back executive office (or desk) swivel chair.

It has to be older, since there are only 4 "legs" to the base (tipping hazard - as I recall, current chairs must have at least 5)

Still, very nice - and very comfy-looking. If I had one like it, I'd be using it right now!

Id guess 1900-1920 give or take. I dont think the leather is original, but its a very nice chair and a steal at $11! I bet its comfy too.

I also think circa 1910. and reupholstered. Think the seat may not have had as heavy cushioning as seen here but could be wrong about that. Just seems odd based on other office chairs seen.
