Old Inherited Cane #1

    I inherited (no, nobody died) 2 canes. 1 has a horn handle and a sterling band, C & Co. Sterling 925 Fine. I cannot find whose mark this is. Also, os the wood bamboo? or something else? Since the horn is curved...maybe a goat horn?

    'Malacca cane' is the name of the material, sort of like bamboo.

    @kraftblue, can you post better images of what I've circled?? UNLESS of course your questions have been answered!!! The left circle starts too much in the dark, and it looks like the right circle ends too much in the dark!!! Thanks!

    I did take another look at the mark after looking thru 925.1000 again. Maybe it's Stephen Castan & Co Philly PA Active 1820

    There definitely looks like another letter before the C. Unlikely to be Castan, though, since "sterling" would not have been been in use until much later in the century.
