Rare item, possibly never seen before. Has local history interest, cool story to go with it, provides a peek into the past, definetely something that only a wealthy person at the time would have possessed. Can't tell you what it's worth -- and you won't know until if/when you offer it for sale -- but sure to be interest among those who collect old menus, old wine lists, hotel memorabilia or are interested in local history. Debora
I don't know about your specific menu but here is a similar type from St Louis that sold. If you have a Worthpoint account you can check the price. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/1877-very-rare-silk-satin-napkin-or-menu-st The rest, while interesting, might need some documentation to prove anything more than a family story. Is there any proof that a famous murder victim owned it? Is there proof your grandmother stole this item and murdered the owner? That sort of thing.
The family story adds nothing to value. If you are interested in pursuing for genealogy reasons, you may get no further than census records. Debora
