I have this frame that has been in the family for a long long time. The top of it with the swans is thin metal. I don't know what to do with it. Would anyone know anything about this?

In my opinion it's Edwardian, to hold a mirror? Is the metal copper?

Neat thing! Agree Edwardian period. Motifs are neoclassical The wood part is decorated with pyrography. Makes me wonder if the swans were found items and the frame made to go with.

I'd look for a good old bevelled edge mirror in a beaten up frame and then do a swap.
