We received this suite from my wife's grandmother about 15 years ago. We understand she purchased it in Wisconsin maybe 50 years ago. We've had some minor repairs done mostly to the side panels on the bed and a few scroll pieces due to various moves but otherwise is in pristine condition. From the antique repair companies that have looked at it, they feel this may be in excess of 100 years old.

We're curious if anyone is familiar with this and/or the paintings? There is only one remaining partial label inside one of the dressing table drawers and it's not enough for us to understand who made it or how old it may actually be. We've looked inside all cabinets and under drawers and there are no other markings unfortunately. We aren't sure if we should have this insured due to value or if the value is more sentimental at this point.

    Dressing table with original mirror

Dresser with identical mirror to dressing table

    Armoir

Full size bed, headboard/footboard and side rails

    Nightstand

    Sitting bench for dressing table

Welcome! I see your link to album pictures, but it will make them much easier for all to see in the context of your query (particularly those using phones to connect here) if you use the little "camera icon" in the reply toolbar to "embed" each picture here.

Thanks - I originally did that and it looked odd so just pasted the link. Will edit it to post as you suggest.

Neat set! I'm not much of a furniture guru, but others who can help with your questions should be along. Hang in there.

My guess would be early 20th C reproduction of an early 18th C style, loosely interpreted. I'd say probably valued at less than new comparable items would cost but far better made, so no special insurance.

Id guess 1880s-1900,and Id call it cottage style because of the painted details. Makes a rather common place set a tad more charming.

Agree that you could call this "cottage" but think it later. Circa 1920.

Are there additional pictures I can upload that might help narrow it all down and maybe get an idea of value? Appraisers out here are expensive so don't want to hire one if the value is more sentimental than anything..

Not terribly valuable. Would think under $1000.00 for the set most places. Probably could be bought for less at auction and you might see it priced just a tad higher in a nice shop. If insuring with a separate rider, you might go double that. If lost, you could probably never replace it with an exact set but 2K would get you something comparably nice or better.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I think it a lovely set and nice to have it so complete with so many matching pieces. Can't help on value though.....I love the lamp on the little nightstand as well!!!!
