    Hi All!

Got it from a friend of mine. It's an antique silver brooch probably from the 1800's.
As for the red stones, i have no idea. He told me that these are probably rubins.
I'm not into jewellery, i rather collect furnitures so i'm not an expert in these things.
    Any idea?
The blue stone is probably Turcoise, and there are seashells, too.

Looks like maybe garnets? No marks anywhere?

Could be garnets, moonstone and turquoise, the only way to be sure it have them tested.

I suspect your friend is correct.
Persian turquoise, rubies and as Marie said, moonstone.
    Late 1800s

Is it gold color or silver?

Needs a good wash. Use an old soft toothbrush and one of the following:
sudsy dish washing detergent, toothpaste, or hydrogen peroxide.
Not all of those - just pick one and try it. Be sure to rinse well.

If silver, use the soft tooth brush with liquid silver polish and then the sudsy dish washing detergent. Rinse well.

And as Marie said, you need to have it looked at to confirm.

It might just edge into the 20th C. I'd use the washing up liquid: I'm a bit wary of toothpaste on moonstones, it can scratch. Agree on garnet, which is the most likely for the date. Blue might possibly be art glass - I think this is Austrian or Bohemian. The setting and rope edge look it to me. Have a VERY good look and see if there isn't a teeny tiny 800 or 900 mark on it.

It has 2 different parts. The basic of it is an old "boglárka" (pin, badge), that was the original piece. And someone later put the stones on it.
There are no marks on it, but it's definitely silver. A jeweller told me it's from circa 1880 and the stones are rubins.
Even though it's a nice antique piece, it has no real value. The jeweller told me it's worth something like $50 or so.

I think your jeweller was right. The way the pin is extended so much past the edge of the brooch means that it is probably at least 1890s. And the colour is more like rubies than garnets.
    Very Austro-Hungarian, very nice.
The Austro-Hungarian empire traded a lot with the Middle East, so Persian turquoise is very likely.
