More info on M. GATES?

I purchased this painting about 5 years ago at an estate sale. I loved the detIl on the flowers and to be honest mostly the frame. Someone asked me a while back who the artist was it is signed M. GATES. I have only been able to find some bits of information on this artist. I believe this painting is from around the 1970s. It is an original oil on pulled canvas and I believe original frame. I have looked through the little I could find on this artist online. Many of the paintings are similar and you can request prints but not this exact one... how much could this be worth? Is anyone familiar with this artist? Would love to know more!

Looks like a factory or decorative painting to me and M. Gates may not be a real person.

I think it is real person. I live in Australia and about 8 years ago I bought similar painting in original frame, which has been already damaged in second hand shop. It cost me a little money. I paid more to fix the frame. But I found this picture very beautiful and my roses has a bright red and pink colors. There are a few real paintings we can buy, but sending to my country will cost more than picture. Anyway I found my picture is nicer than this one on the market. If someone interested I can send photo of my picture.

I've got a couple of paintings by the same artist, beautiful work, similar subjects - white roses in vases. Mine have the original frames with the framing price of 2 dol shillings, which suggests that the painting are also pre-decimal, so pre-1971. I'm happy to post pictures of that helps.

This signature seems to be similar. It is a supposed Limoges artist. Maybe she tried her hand at oil painting or maybe the factory copied her signature.
