Hi Everyone, I am 67, live in south Devon, in a little village called Kellaton, which is near to Start Point Lighthouse, I have been interested in all things old all of my life, and did deal in pottery and porcelain at one time....my house is full of lovely old things, mainly damaged, because I cannot afford perfect!! I have a reasonable knowledge of British pottery and Porcelain, but am no means an expert, and it is good to have found a place where I can seek the opinions of others!!!I have three dogs, a Lurcher, a Whippet and a Shih Tzu,and a big garden that keeps me fully occupied, I have a married daughter who lives in Kingsbridge, about 7 miles away, she has no interest in antiques which is very frustrating!!!Hoping to make my first post soon....need someone who knows about older Faenza tin glazed pottery....!!!1
Hello Linda! Welcome! Your post reveals that you're full of personality and energy. You will like it here for sure.
A big "welcome" Linda. You have already given me "something" to research (that being what is a "lurcher"). I have now done a bit of that research, and I will say it is a most interesting history of a dog breed, to say the least.
I agree.....I never heard of a Lurcher before either. http://www.lurchersos.org.uk/lurcher-information/
Hello Linda, welcome. Looks like you are already right at home here. Thanks Judy. Beautiful hounds, classy.
Hi All, Thanks for all your interest and comments....Lurcher dogs are usually a cross of 5 breeds....mine is a greyhound x Whippet x Bedlington Terrier x Deerhound and something else that I have forgotten!!!He looks like a smooth coated Black greyhound, they are usually hairier than Roman......They are traditionally for hunting....but all my doga are just spoilt pets!!! I live about 10minutes from several beaches.....so they all have a lovely time!!!
Hi again, I am going to try and send you a pic of my three in the front garden at Christmas.... the Shih Tzu sporting the police dog coat is called Dobby, the overweight Whippet, the sandy coloured one is called Pi and the black Lurcher Roman.......having trouble because file is too large....so watch this space!!!!!
Welcome Linda, I LOVE spoiled pets!! and all animals for that matter .. bring on the pics if you're able . Joy.
