    I'd like to see the found object subjected to XRF analysis. I wonder what's in Spain's extensive archives (if anything) regarding 16th C. Battles between their people and Native Americans in the American Midwest?

    i wish there was a close up picture of the "Cannonball"; it should be evident how old it is by the corrosion on it.:)

    Looks like a miniball and could have been fired or dropped almost anytime! I don't see how that "proves" anything. Finished reading the whole article and they did say it was made of iron? so who knows.

    I'm a little skeptical; I noted the use of wording like "may" and "might be" and "is believed to be."
    And that the city is planning to construct a tourist attraction.
    But it might be true. :angelic:
