Is the miniature portrait Edwardian or Georgian?

Hello all. I am new to this forum. I recently bought this adorable miniature. The gentleman I got it from informed me it was Georgian. I did an antique last week and another person said it is Edwardian.
I am doing a fair again soon and am hoping to sell this. I would greatly appreciate any answers as to what age this could be.
    Many thanks Rita

Is this a piece of jewelry?
    Size?
What does the back look like?

The clothing is Georgian. Little people in the Edwardian Age tended to have high necklines.

I see early Victorian. In the Georgian era, little girls were dressed like this.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

My questions are the same. We might be able to tell more from the back.

Ditto on the early Victorian. 1840s through 1850s. That's when that neckline was popular in children's clothing. I mean the neckline in the original post. Not the one that Debora posted.

Here is an ambrotype from my collection. I've posted it before. Ambrotypes were in use mainly from the early 1850s to the early 1860s. This one is probably from the 1850s. Note the neckline...

The barley curls could date it to as early as the 1840s.

    No. It's a miniature portrait.

You mean the painted portrait? Ambrotypes first appeared in 1854, so I know mine is from after that. I was thinking late 1850s. They can also be dated by the mat and preserver styles.

Hi all again. As I'm selling this portrait would anyone have any idea how much I should sell it for?
    Regards Rita

It looks like it could be on ivory. If so, that can be a problem.

Looks like the frame was originally silver plated.

It's lovely, but I don't know how to help with a price.
