Beyond that, I'm afraid I don't know much about these, apart from them being cute.

 

Google translate says Toyo for whatever that is worth. (with Orient as an alternative)

1970s, I'd think. There were lots of small decorative items around then with that label.

You need to change Google Translate over to Japanese, then it will translate to Orient. In Chinese, it translates in Google Translate to Toyo, which is not so much a translation as it is a representation of how to pronounce the words because it is one of the pinyin styles it has in its back end programming, but it still stands for Japan, but also can be applied to East Asian countries in general.

Pin Yin is the writing of Chinese using a Romanised alphabet as a means of conveying the pronunciation of the characters. There are various forms of Pin Yin which can be applied. For instance, 東洋 can also be written as dong yang, which has the same pronunciation as the earlier 'To Yo'.

Toyo studio pottery sells pretty well - has a good mid century modern look.

 

I wouldn't put much stock in Google translate on that Toyo. Couch Potato would know better.

 

Google lens keeps thinking these little guys are food. Manju or Wagashi, which they seem to resemble. (not a clue)
