    I've mentioned this a few times but I think it fits!:D
    I have the book The Last Men of the Revolution which has 6 photos of different revolutionary war veterans; here's a photo of Samuel Downing:

    My maternal grandfather aged 18 just before going to the Somme WWI.
    He later received shrapnal injuries in Ypres.
    Most of his regiment was wiped out.
