Yes you're right but I have chosen to try to fix it.
About it being broken, I expect that, for like 90%.
But still, there shouldn't be a gap that big.
So to my opinion is has to be re-done.

    I'll let you know.

By the way, I tried pure aceton yesterday, wouldn't do nothing with the glue.
Then I poured the whole bottle is the bowl --> still nothing.

I now have it in hot water for 30minutes, hoping that will work, but I don't think so

    Like I/We expected; It's broken.

But I thought it would be filled up with small pieces of glass or something,
but unfortunately the whole pin/peg is still in, an there's no space left to get it out,
    which means:

1- I can not remove the orange/yellowish glue remains in the base.

2- I can not glue the horn at the same height as the dish, (there's still going to be this gap), since I can't bring the pin down any further than it was.

Only thing I can do now is clean it and glue it back on.

Too bad they messed up in the first place :(

    Haha that's lame.

I saw I forgot to add the picture. Then wanted to add it with the text:
"I forgot to add the picture:"

But the pic size was too big, and I was too lazy to re-size it.
Didn't know that sentence WAS still placed, but:

    I have sent him;

    I propose 2 options:
    1) I will send the vase back. (at your expense)
    2) I want 30% of the purchase amount returned. (excluding shipping costs).

Hoping that he will choose option #2, because I won't send the vase back after messing with it.

Unfortunately I haven't heard back anything yet.

    But I was thinking....
    It's still loose right now.

What is the best way to fix it?

1- Glue it back on, I have removed a clump of glue that levelled it right up.
This will leave it almost in the same condition I received. (With the big gap).
    Just a little better.

2- I cut the remnant from the pin, off of the horn.
AND cut away a bit of the remnant of the pin inside the base.

This will remove the gap, but there's a possibility that gluing it to the remnants in the base won't work. Therefore I would have to glue it to the bowl itself. Then the gap-problem is resolved. Only issues would be whether the glue is or isn't visible from the outside, through the glass. There might be special glue for this, but it's worth a try.

But how can I best cut off the remnant from the pin off of the horn?

    I hope you'll understand my English :D :D

Hi, I think you need to be careful of accusing a seller of deception.

You may well be correct but you may not be correct. You leave yourself open to litigation, especially if you repeat the allegations in an open forum and the seller can be identified.

It is possible that the seller made a mistake. If they are honest sellers, they will provide you with your money back on returning the item. Accusing them of dishonesty is unlikely to help your case.

Trying to repair the item yourself means that you will probably have to keep it and hope that the seller makes a partial refund

Thank you for your input. I think you're absolutely right. I was a little aggitated at first, but I believe I'm very reasonable (at least to my opinion). I did say, and I still think this is absolutely wrong. The way the pictures were set up says it all.

I did tell the seller that he/she is responsible for the PRODUCT, even if there's a possibility SOMEONE ELSE is to blame for the PICTURES.

Also my intensions to share this online, where to:
1- Show off my new purchase.
2- Blow off some steam perhaps.
3- Get to know more about this item.

And it's never my intention to (falsely) accuse somebody, whether or not in public.
The deal is made in another country, stating no names etc.
So I'm really discrete about that.

    I do appreciate your concern!

(Sending it back messed with hasn't even been considered)

    ;)

I dont blame you for being agitated!

Remember, if you are posting copy pics, that tineye and google image are tools that many of us use to identify items that have been offered for sale.

As for art nouveau/jugendstil, your piece may be of the time period but I do not think it shows art nouveau styling.

    Ahh I understand ;)

    About your second remark;
Jugendstil and Art Nouveau are the same, right?

When I translate jugendstil it shows Art Nouveau

Yes, jugendstil is the german version of art nouveau. All I was meaning is that your piece probbly dates from the same time period butdoes not evidence obvious art nouveau styling.
