Mystery (to me) ceramic ewer/pitcher. I only know it's old.

I will try and show you the overall form and then the marks on the bottom.
I don't think it was originally an expensive piece, but I can't be certain.
As far back as I can remember, it was always in the parlor at the farm .
it is 13" (33cm) to the top of the handle.

 

Welcome Tom - I would search under "majolica pitcher" to find similar examples. These pitchers are usually not marked in a way that allows for identification of maker or region of origin. The cherubs are an interesting addition and not common on majolica pieces. Can you tell if it's a decal or hand painted? I'm assuming decal. It was not an expensive piece at the time of purchase and the passage of time hasn't helped the value much. If I had to date it I would put it in the first quarter of the 20th century. Hope this helps.

I don't think the Cherubs are handpainted. I'll post another couple of pics taken closer.
Also, I did find something similar searching "antique majolica pitcher" .
There was no other photo with it. I'll keep looking !

 

Yes, I agree it is a decal. The vase directly above is much more typical of the type of majolica I usually find. Somehow the cherub motif just doesn't work for me. It may be that's it's a making a fussy mold even fussier. But then again maybe I'm the one being fussy . And truth be told it would fit right into my decor.

You say fussy, I say - well - I better not - to my untrained eye it looks like a cheap knock-off of something that had style and was popular at the time.
The decal seems to be a design in common use as here it is again with minor variations from a plate.
I don't find the ewer attractive in the least but I hope to identify a maker and fix the era to within a couple of decades.
