    Hello again,
    1. Is there a way for ME to ID these dark green stones or are they glass?
    2. I'm also trying to figure out what it says on the back? It looks like it could be A 12C 12K M&S or M12C 12K M&S or 1/2C 12K M&S? It also looks like someone scratched GF under it. IF it is gold filled, what might the percentage be?
    3. Any idea DSCN6007.JPG DSCN6012.JPG DSCN6007.JPG DSCN6032.JPG DSCN6033.JPG what this butterfly[?] sterling brooch represents?
    Thanks for any help,
    Karl.

    The stones look like glass.
M&S Marks & Spencer? I don't know where you are, Marks & Spencer is a British department store. They sell jewellery as well.

That 1/20 makes sence. It is obvious now. Thanks so much for that. Guess I was hoping for something better that I just didn't see it.

As far as the stones go, I wasn't expecting anything from that. Again, just wanted to besure before I scraped it. I have several 1/10 and 1/20 GF peices. Do they have ANY scrap value?

Any thoughts on what that brooch? It looks like it is from some organization or something but the only thing on the obverse is "STERLING"?

Thanks for your help and HAVE A GREAT DAY!
    Karl.

You'll get more seling it as vintage than scrap. Scrap is pennies on that thin layer, if anything at all.

WAG on the brooch...Swallows of Capistrano? I think that's a bird not a butterfly. And I'm looking at the lower portion that seems to portray South America (ie Argentina) and lower California (San Juan Capistrano).

The second one is a dove, olive branch, globe and ...? It's some kind of world peace thing. The gold-filled one is worth more as a pin than it is in gold; most refineries won't even bother with gold-filled pieces. You have to sell them by the pound to get anywhere; it has about 25 cents worth of gold on it, if that much.

    1/20 12K is about a dollar a gram today.

A quarter's worth of pure gold is 1/5000 of an ounce.

...and that's about what gold-fill sells for in these parts.(sigh) Quarters.
