Home made lamp?

Discussion in 'Furniture' started by Jamie Sancineto, Apr 19, 2017.

  1. Found this lamp at a used furniture store. Could not find a maker..
the top of the table is crushed sea shells in a resin? (Also found a button in it too)
bottom shelf of table is laminate..
lamp shades look like Danish style..

Could this be some home project lamp?
Any one ever come across a lamp like this?

    Thanks for reading. 20170409_173452.jpg

I've definitely seen lamps with shades like that --1960's plus or minus, no question.

The ones I've seen have been pole lamps, the kind spring suspended between floor and ceiling.

I've never seen one on a table like this and looks a bit off, could be wrong. Functional in any case. Seashells in resin are certainly an older thing, so maybe was sold like this?

  3. It is centered in the back half of the table (bad pic, sorry). It is in working order, other than having to be very careful adjusting the shades..

There were lots of small furniture shops making such things. Probably not home made but attributing it without a label will be difficult. You may find pole lamps that are very similar using identical parts. Many companies bought the same parts from wholesalers and used them in different ways.
