Need help identifying chair

Im guessing here,but I think its a 1950's-60's oriental side chair , but those gorgeous swirls on the arms are throwing me. Im wondering if the top part is older than the base ? Doesnt it seem that the top part is flowing,graceful,yet the bottom is a little chunky? LOVE this chair !

 

Is this the way the chair was made, or your repair?


If it is original, then I would think later than 1960s.

Looks like an American or English chair with Asian influence.
To me the claw feet are wrong for an Asian chair.

 

I do think Chinese for the Western market. Agree that it is pretty modern with that construction detail.

 

i saw these new, while looking for chairs in the early 90's.

 

This chair had very old looking webbing that appeared to be rubber and was severely dry rotted. When I took off the webbing there were old-looking small, slightly spiraled nails that were holding the old webbing in place. The bolt you are referring to, Clutteredcloset49 is not my work. They appear very new and did not match the condition of the rest of the chair. We think someone made an attempt to better secure the legs.
