And today, a seriously weird silver ring....!

Heavy, marked SIL. Bloke selling it was Polish, but who knows. B42A.jpg B42B.jpg B42C.jpg B42D.jpg B42E.jpg

Married mom holding baby wrapped in a blanket, more like; she's wearing a wedding band. It could be an unusual Madonna and Child piece. It looks like there could be a mark inside that rectangle on the inside, or there was supposed to be. Polish stuff is generally marked to a fare-thee-well, so I suspect either artisan or not Polish.

This bottle is quite imposing at 10" tall & about 3" wide. :wideyed::wideyed::wideyed:

I am not sure what this treatment is called, but the bottle was made by Murano c.1960 in a beautiful deep red color with spots of gold with DeVilbiss hardware. :smug::smug:

I was removing a sticky label and then thought I'd get greasy fingerprints while I was at it.

Yup, Chance Glass, which is indeed British, in anemone and pansy patterns. I've some of their geometric stuff- it looks like a Spirograph pattern! - wedding present to parents in the early 50s. The transfers were made by Johnson Matthey.

Ruth, well spotted on that wedding ring. There's nothing in the little cartouche, so I suspect artisan made may well be it.

That peacock is mad. I think the rabbits are copies of Beatrix Potter sketches.

That poor peacock was covered in layers of greasy dirt, but it just called to me" Take me home" ! My mother, who never met a beige she didnt like, was appalled! And it works! Lit up,its a party all its own!

I went to a senior center thrift today and for the princely sum of US$10.75 wandered off with all of this. The egg is modern Chinese cloisonne and the stuff smack in the front is costume. The white bracelet is "Featherlite" plastic, made to resemble meerschaum. The other four bracelets, the turquoise set and the necklace on the right are sterling. I have to test the Imagine ring, but it's marked sterling too. The little ring in the upper right...14k and aquamarine.

Joe, My Grandma had one like it in the 1960's - she always used it for her famous (disgusting?) shredded carrot + pineapple jello salad!
I may not care for jello, but the bowl itself brings back great memories!
