Today was my first time seeing a simple weaving framed.
I bought it for less than a dollar. Is it a crafter or students work ?

I'd guess that rather than being any type of ethnic item, it is intended to be "art;" possibly made by reworking a piece of burlap rather than woven from scratch; and I would also guess that you are likely correct that it was produced by a student or crafter.

    Thanks Steve

I did not think that it was an Ethnic Item but needed some reassurance.

My mother in law was a weaver and loved making 'works of art' that she framed. Some beautiful items that I wish I had pictures of. She was very talented.

That couldn't be more mid-century modern if it tried. My guess is that a woman in the mid-1950s who wanted her home to be Modern made that from ideas in a ladies magazine.

A "take" on traditional drawn work - had a great grandaunt that did it in her leisure..............though WHY I will never know..................
