Sort of militaria! A nice unmarked Art Deco spoon which is probably silver with two crossed rifles on the finial. Are they any particular model or fantasy? It will help be research.

They are target rifles firing fixed ammunition with what may be a bolt action or possibly some fprm of underlever action, the representations are not all that clear but the target sights are clear enough.

It would be safe to assume the spoon was a minor prize from a shooting club, possibly unawarded as they are usually engraved with something to mark the event.

does the rifle badge come off...detach from the spoon?

It was made as a separate plaque, by the look of it, but doesn't detach.

So the main spoon could be used for many different reasons. :)

Absolutely. The spoon itself is a nice Art Deco styled thing.

Here are a couple of others on an eBay auction. One of them is identical to yours. The seller is calling them "PAIR ART DECO 1930's SILVER PLATED RIFLE CLUB SOUVENIR SPOONS." The one like yours is unmarked, but the other is.

Nowww, it is probably a figment of my imagination, but it looks like lettering on the right side, 3 o'clock area. The lettering may be a "K" or crossed rifles followed by "ri... " that may say rifles. Certainly doesn't help on IDing. I have now seen a few crossed rifle spoons, not like this, accredited to homeland front.

Here's another with the same basic design but the rifes and backround different. It dates from 1959 and a presentation spoon:

    Presentation Spoon
    Engraved
    52 Group R.P.C. Shoot
    1959
    Rifle Team
(which could be Royal Pioneer Corps but I cannot confirm)

Found others now. Following is an auction for a lot f Buckingham County Rifle Association. The seller says they are plated and made by the made by Bramwell & Co (Sheffield).

As always, you are certainly welcome, OBi-Wan KenoBi, my wise and powerful Jedi Master! Like others on the forums, you have so much knowledge and wisdom at your fingertips that you have generously imparted to others through the years. This is just a speck in return.

Really, af - another Jedi Master, in message #5 ID the spoon early on with:
"spoon was a minor prize from a shooting club"
