This inscription at the base just translates as remembrance or something like that. The Tonsberg-Kameratene sports club was mostly boxing, wrestling and weight lifting.

    Incredible finds.

Acquired a large lot of early German and French porcelain items. Not really super finds cause I paid a fair price for resale, but this group of dogs looked good, but now not so sure... mark is impressed LL, statue appears to be partial of Sevres Biscuit Bisque Group of dogs by Houbry Jean-Baptiste Oudry, maybe a Samson reproduction? It does have repairs, but even so the trunk doesn't match even though it is obvious the hunter figure is missing. dogroup1.jpg dogroupm.jpg dogroup1.jpg e repairs... dogroupm.jpg

I have been so busy with my real job I haven't had time to photograph my finds. I did it today, wonderful de-stressing activity. Hope you don't mind all the pics.

Late Victorian onyx, seed pearl, and enamel. I am guessing this was a very early pair of screwback earrings... I think rolled gold plate. Check out the back mechanism:

    Above, maybe handpainted Victorian brooch.
Below, mismarked brooch sold as costume, it's 14k with genuine stones:

You can hit the edit button then delete the extra pics.

The multi-gem 14k artist's palette brooch may spell something it the language of stones. As in Ruby, emerald garnet amethyst ruby diamond sapphire = Regards. Often found as a combination of stones in a ring.

Take the initial letter of the stones for the word.

    Coral, ruby, amethyst, peridot.

For the girl not in your life any more.

    The possibilities are endless.

I do know about the initials for gemstones.... this is a more modern piece. I sold a 14k vintage DEAREST ring a few years ago.

    Re: The painter's palette...

Back in the mid-80s, when I was in the retail jewelry biz, we sold 'Mothers or Grandmothers' rings and brooches. The birthstone for each child or grandchild. I remember ordering one for my Grandmother. If we had had that painter's palette, I would have ordered it for my Mother (Painter). Sadly, the stones are not right, but 5 of them is correct. I'd buy that from you in a hot minute for my Mother's upcoming b-day..

That painter's palette is a mother or grandma piece for sure. @Marko - I have a necklace that isn't quite identical but close. The original clasp was long gone. Today's best find went straight to the scrapper - no fear it was a modern and mass-produced gold cross. The guy I sold it to won't melt it; it'll be in his gold case for three times what he paid me.(LOL) A jewelry dealer at a rummage sale walked right by it. [IMG]

I was hoping the bracelet and yellow pin were bakelite. No such luck. The link bracelet at the bottom is hand painted Persian though. The glass opals are set in sterling, and that stick pin says it's 14k.

The birdie is copper plated over chrome. Unsigned.

Guys, I don't think the painter's palette is a mother's piece. I have seen these on ebay. I think it comes from the 1990s when it was popular to use the multi-colored gemstones like garnet, blue topaz, peridot, and citrine..... they missed the 14k mark on the pin stem. :)

Evelyn, it is amazing what I have seen dealers walk right by. Good for you! I buy stuff off a guy who bids on those storage lots;he has yards sales from time to time. I found a huge sterling cross he said it wasn't real. I told him to recheck it. I now see it in a case in a jeweler's store who buys estate/second hand jewelry. Not a great loss, modern piece with CZs, and I get plenty of other stuff from him. I have to say, my best finds anymore are antique stores.

I got my middle daughter into picking. She now sells on the Bay but mostly Disney, she knows what I like so she buys it. I have so much more but I don't care to drag it out and photograph them but she has bought me a huge lot of stuff.:cat:

Since I rarely get out she picks for me and knows what I like. Also,no chips, cracks, dents or dings. So I need these items like I need a hole in my head.....but its fun and one day I will organize all my stuff and sell. This is the latest she brought up.

The yellow demi is Barker Bros, Japan, set of 4,the glass sugar & creamer are sterling bases, yellow flowered leaf dish,Old Nuremberg Bavaria,Germany, snack dish with attached dip,Bavaria, ashtray,Alliance China goldcrest,Holm Gaard decanter,Copenhagen, plus she brought me a coffee set with cream & sugar,Kelt Craft,Ireland Trinidad pattern, not pictured.
