Hello all and thank you for accepting my membership to your community.

I love antiques and I work around them (in a way) but my area of interest is far from china or porcelain. Nevertheless, I have recently inherited a few small pieces and I would like help identifying and valuing them.

Hope I have chosen the right forum and thank you in advance for any help!

I will be very grateful for your replies and help.

Even helping me identify the names of these pieces so I can search completed auctions for values would be valuable.

    Thank you!

Id guess Royal crown Derby in the Imari pattern. Shame about some of the damage, that really kills value most of the time. They are lovely to look at though.:) I especially like the fan shaped one.

    Thank you Johnny.

Yes, there is some damage. Too bad.

As far as I can tell, no. 1 is from pattern; no. 2 and 3 from another; and no. 4 from a third.

Does that look right to you guys?

Welcome the the forum Black Snow:) Your photos are excellent, I love these pieces!
I agree with johnny, Royal Crown Derby in Imari pattern/colours and damage will hurt the value. I don't know if they would have had a pattern name, probably just sold as Imari. Maybe one of the members from England will have a look and give you a better idea. @rhiwfield @Ownedbybear
Your second one is the oldest, looks like the mark is from 1825-48.

Black Snow, what is the dimension of the last piece? Think it's an early-ish item, but not RCD?

Hi kentworld. Thank you for your reply.

The dish is 5.5" in diameter. Actually just a little bit under.

Here is a closer look at the dish's only mark. IMG_9119.jpg

Black Snow, first let me thank you for such clear posts and photos :)

Some of these need more work but No 1 is a modern piece, probably 1960s but I cant find the exact date match for cypher XIXX

No 2. Godden Encyclopedia of British Pottery & Porcelain Marks states that this circular Bloor Derby mark was used 1820-1840

No 3 has the interlocked Ds under the crown and I think this was used at the Osmaston Road factory 1877-1890 according to Antique Marks. But you also appear to have an impressed Derby and possibly an impressed circular date cypher, so I'm unsure on this

No 4 may not be Derby at all, in fact it may be Coalport pattern 1019

This from a Worthpoint copy listing:

"Coalport porcelain 'Japan' pattern from the Anstice, Horton and Rose (Thomas Rose) partnership

Dated around c1810 A large saucer dish - unmarked, but from the same service marked with pattern number 1019 A John Rose version of the pattern is illustrated in the Coalport reference book by G.Godden (plate 55) In very good condition with no damage or repairs....the gilding is excellent...just the odd bit of rubbing (mostly around the rim)....the odd scratch to red rust colour enamels. The dish measures 220mm or around 8 5/8" diameter."

So, I consulted experts on another site, and the saucer with that number is likely Coalport. Here's the respone: If the pattern number is 1019 probably Thomas Rose Coalport c 1810-15.

Thank you very much for your very valuable help rhiwfield and kentworld.

Based on your expertise I did a little research into completed auction prices.

I think I've got the descriptions down; how about the values?
    1. Fan plate: Royal crown Derby in the Imari pattern, modern piece, probably 1960s. Maybe $20?
    2. Oval Dish: Royal crown Derby in the Imari pattern, Bloor Derby c. 1820-1840. Maybe $40?
    3. Shell plate: Royal crown Derby in the Imari pattern, Osmaston Road factory c. 1877-1890. Maybe $150 in mint condition, $65 as is?
    4. Small dish: Coalport 'Japan' pattern from the Anstice, Horton and Rose (Thomas Rose) partnership, c. 1810-1815. $ any ideas?

I appreciate everyone's help and comments.

I missed this! Fab photos, and I think almost everything has been covered. I don't think the Coalport is wildly valuable - about the $25 to $40 range.
