Featured Partially loose antique beads from ...necklace? ...dress?

    I'm going to re-purpose these, just curious what they might have come off of originally. Thinking 1920s or so. Would they have come off a dress?

    (Side note, not AB coating, they are just picking up reflection from outside, trees, etc. The material is glass, sort of hematite-like.)

    Thanks Cluttered. I'm going to inspect the material on these tomorrow. I *think* glass, but will double check. They came in a bag at an estate sale with some older glass buttons. I have plans to make them into earrings, we'll see how that goes.

    They look like jet or French jet (glass) beads to sew on clothing. I have quite a few of those jet and French jet appliqués, they were sold separately, just like ribbons etc.

    That's what I thought when I saw those; sew-on bead decorations for clothing.
