I was thinking the same thing Johnny.:happy::happy:

I don't think it would be for a lock of hair because it looks like it would slip through the openings. BWDIK

I wouldn't like to put a sponge containing perfume or scented vinegar against that bone carving. After a few weeks you wouldn't have any bone left.:nailbiting:

Besides, I don't know of anyone carrying a vinaigrette these days, or of recent Asian manufacturers making vinaigrettes.

I guess you are not up to the present time, they are now called essential oil diffuser pendants.

Those are for a very different purpose and a very different fluid though, not vinaigrettes at all. I haven't seen them with bone btw, which I wouldn't advise anyway.

They say it is deer antler, and that is what it looks like to me.;)
    They also say:
"if you do use these as essential oil diffusing pendants, they will absorb the oil and change colour"

True. But I still wouldn't like to put any perfume, scented vinegar or otherwise on ezee's bone carving.:nailbiting:

FWIW, the DTR mark on the piece that INH posted is a Jay King mark, which I think is short for Desert Rose Trading.

Hi! I work for the artist that made this pendant! His name is Michael Rogers and he is a Paiute Jeweler from California. He's been making jewelry for over 50 years and he currently has an Etsy shop His hallmark is the Jack Rabbit and it looks like his signature has been worn off at this point! If you have anymore questions, you can contact us at his site and we'd be more than happy to answer them. The pendant is beautiful and I hope you're enjoying it!

I'm so happy I could help--we get questions constantly about verifying his work and we're planning on creating an info guide on his jewelry hallmarks because the MR on the back is rarely his work. Want me to ask him about your pendant really quick?

He says that this is definitely his older work, because it lacks his physical signature which he now does with an electric etcher. He also no longer makes pendants with that particular hook at the top to slip over turquoise nugget or Navajo pearl necklaces. He let me know that the hook part is made with two pieces of 10 gauge half round wires soldered together. The center cabachon is a piece of mother of pearl he cut himself; the ivory he worked with were in rings, never pendants.
Can I ask you about how you came to own this pendant? It's really beautiful!

Yes, it's mother of pearl with a cream nacre, not the rainbow nacre most people are used to seeing. It's a great find!
