    Sorry, I can't offer you any help but I just wanted to say how much I love looking at old steamer trunks... they often hint at great stories! I believe they were used up until about the 1920s/30s. It's a real pity that they're generally not worth much... unless it's a Louis Vuitton. :rolleyes:

    I think this is a 1920s/30s steamer trunk as bluunz said.
    Would have opened standing up. You are missing the drawers.

    you should check out wardrobe steamer trunks to see more like yours. Do you have the drawers?

    Think that says "Luxury." Appears to be a label for the Holland-America Line which sailed from Hoboken until 1963. Lurline sailed from the West Coast.
