Featured Glassies: Imperial Wide Panel Amberina Bowl

Good evening everyone. I need a little help please with the ID of this stunning Amberina flared rim, paneled, bowl that measures 8 1/8" x 3 3/4" x 3 1/4" Marie. It appears to be Imperial Wide Panel Stretch Glass but I'm not seeing the "stretch" marks. I reckon that would be 1930's or so?

 

CRS, I'm afraid I know absolutely nothing about your bowl, but I just had to comment. I'm generally not a fan of amberina glass, but there's just something about that bowl... It's lovely! It reminds me of something my grandmother might have had, way back when. (She probably would have used it to serve Jell-o!)

 

I don't think it is Imperial.
Because of the quality shown in this polished area and the squared step.


My first thought was Cambridge, but I've been through my books and didn't find anything similar and the color is wrong.
I also checked Northwood and Dugan again no match.

I think it "might" be Fenton. I have found a cupped bowl style 604 (no panels), that seems to have that stepped rim. Hard to see clearly in the book.

They do have a wide panel.
Right now the problem is the color.

Still looking.
Found another cupped bowl by Fenton that shows that stepped rim much better picture.

Well I'm sorry Carl. I didn't have any luck.
I went through my Fenton books, including the ones made for other companies.
Did not find the wide panel in a Fenton bowl.

The bowls I mentioned above were 1930s style bowls with that stepped rim.

It's late, I've probably confused the issue. Sorry.

Thank you Don. I will check those out. While the dimensions are not spot on, they are fairly close.

 

Phone cameras are wonderful! So light weight and they travel anywhere!!!!

 

This bowl was further shaped by workers after molding. A 1/2" variation either was is not unusual.

 

Thanks George. I'm away on vacation, therefore away from all of my favorite websites. Am I in the right ballpark as to the age estimate circa 1930's?

 

I would go with the 1920's. These remind me of U S Glass Sunset line circa 1925

That's why I don't think it's Imperial.
Imperial is nice glass, just not as high a quality in terms of clarity, or that finished step rim.
However, I could very well be wrong. Seems I have been lately. Old age is starting to mess with the memory.

 

And just like that, I didn't see Don or George's replies.

 

It is a lovely bowl and super great photos.

 

Tiara Glass of Indiana made an Amberina collection.

 

I would not rule Imperial they kinda fit between elegant and depression. Candlewick is clearly elegant. I do not care for Cape Cod but the quality is there. Remember Tiffin was part of USG for the fancier lines. Some is saying USGG something like 300 or 310 line.
