Amber Color Beads Nacklace

Are those glass, stone..? Age, origin?

Good question. The yellow ones look like some beads I've seen coming out of China. How much do they weigh? Are they cold to the touch? Amber is generally fairly light. Get the clear ones under a loupe and check for bubbles; bubbles mean glass.

 

Cold to touch, no bubbles.

 

Looks like glass. The clasp 40s? Someone else will know.

 

It looks a lot newer than that to me - 90s or later.

 

Last photo is fairly out of focus. What is the material that was used to string this?

I'm thinking the clasp is more modern, but would also like a close-up of the spacer beads. All of these things give clues as to age.

Also wondering if this might have been restrung.

 

PLastic thread. Glass clear beads if there that cold, not all have bubbles. Opaque ones may be glass but possibly china/porcelain.

I'd say even later than the 90s; those flattened faceted glass beads are very recent Chinese manufacture. This was probably made in the last decade.
