    14919540720632040954970.jpg I picked this item up a a flea market. It is cast iron, detailed, has a metal seat and old.

    I do think more for wood but these things...
    Never seems to be certain unless found in an ad or catalog.

    Not for wood, from what I can see. But it might help to see some different views - and to know what it's made of (frame is apparently metal, but what it the center?)

    And does it fold up?

    The seat is metal so I doubted it folded and may or may not get a cushion.
    I've seen many used for wood even if a stool to begin with. :)

    I see now that the information about material was buried below the image.

    We still need to see different views. Like the underside. If it only has those 2 "feet" it may not be appropriate for much weight.

    It looks like a campaign chair,but the metal seat throws me. Usually they were leather.

    Personal opinion, I think it is used for wood holder.
    This connection isn't strong enough for the weight of an adult.
